What we are authorised to do

Authorisation, and what it covers

Finnegan Maguire Financial Advisors is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland as an insurance and investment intermediary and as a mortgage credit intermediary. That authorisation is what allows us to advise you on, and arrange, the products described on this website.

We are independent. We are not tied to any one life company, lender or investment provider, and we hold agencies with a range of them so that a recommendation can be based on your circumstances rather than on who we work for.

Our terms of business set out the full detail of what we do, the agencies we hold and the basis on which we act for you, and you receive a copy before we do any business together.

Everything you
are entitled to see

You get these without asking. They are here as well so you can read them before you ever contact us.

If something goes wrong

Complaints procedure

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, tell us. You can ring, write or email, and you can ask for it to be treated as a formal complaint.

What happens next
01 We acknowledge your complaint in writing, normally within five business days.
02 We give you the name of the person handling it.
03 We update you regularly while it is being investigated.
04 We write to you with the outcome, and explain the reasoning.

If you are still not satisfied

You may refer your complaint to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman, which is free of charge to you and independent of us. We will give you their contact details and explain the process at the point we issue our final response.

How to raise it

Ring and ask to speak to the director, or put it in writing. Either is fine, and you will not be treated any differently for making a complaint.

Your information

Data protection

Advising you means holding a certain amount of personal and financial information about you. We hold only what we need, for as long as we are required to, and we do not sell it to anybody.

You have the right to ask us what we hold about you, to have it corrected, and in most circumstances to have it deleted. Ask and we will deal with it. The full detail is in our privacy notice.

Calculators on this website run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into one is sent to us or stored anywhere unless you specifically ask us to email you a breakdown.
